About Me
Teaching music has been my life long passion. Working with my students has brought great joy, satisfaction, and fulfillment to my life. My students truly feed my soul. I hold a Bachelor of Music degree, as a Piano Performance major, from Wesleyan College in Macon, GA, where I studied piano with Linda Lane and voice with Norman P. McLean. While at Wesleyan I was a member and officer of Sigma Alpha Iota, a music honorary fraternity for women, and also a member and officer of Kappa Delta Epsilon, an honor sorority for Education Majors. I also was a state officer of the Georgia Student Music Educators National Convention, on the planning committee for the Senior MENC biennial convention, and was the collegiate sponsor for a session presented at the convention by the collegiate division. I hold a Master of Arts in Teaching degree in Music Education from Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, Florida, with a secondary concentration in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. At Jacksonville University, my voice teacher was William Vessels. Further post graduate studies have been taken at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida,
I have experience both as a classroom teacher and a music teacher at Arlington Country Day School and St. Johns Country Day School. Professional performance experience includes serving as the Music Director and Pianist for the Jacksonville Church of the Brethren and at the Baldwin United Methodist Church.
In the early 1990s, I was granted State and National Certification as a Teacher of Music by the Florida State Music Teachers Association and the National Music Teachers Association.

It was my honor to serve as the President of the Harmony Senior Music Club, which is affiliated with the Florida and National Federation of Music Clubs. Our local club consists of professional music teachers. I also served as the District President of the St. Johns District and was the Junior Festival Chairman. At the time, there were over 1200 student events, in which students from all over Northeast Florida were adjudicated by professional teachers and musicians.
Teaching students of all ages, pre-schoolers to seniors and beginners to advanced, has truly brought a great blessing and enrichment to my life. Many have gone on to college as music majors with full scholarships and are now professional musicians and teachers themselves. Come join me and find out what all the excitement is about!
